Elvis J. Adan, Esq., Associate Attorney, was born and raised in Miami, son of Cuban immigrants. Mr. Adan attended Christopher Columbus High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Mr. Adan then attended St. Thomas University School of Law, where he graduated in 2004. While at St. Thomas University School of Law, he received a Certificate in Comparative Constitutional Law from the World Institute of Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria. The course examined the structural issues in constitution building, including separation of powers, judicial review and federalism, and evaluated the nature and content of individual rights provisions and protections in various national constitutions. This course was taught by United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Also, while at St. Thomas University School of Law, Mr. Adan received the award for highest grade in Appellate Advocacy. Mr. Adan was admitted to the Florida Bar after graduation and has practiced in the area of Workers’ Compensation since 2006. Mr. Adan has litigated over 1000 Workers’ Compensation cases, including trying just over 40 of those since 2006. In 2004, Mr. Adan received a Pro Bono award for his Pro Bono work with the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. Mr. Adan is also an Adjunct Professor at Miami-Dade Community College where he has taught Business Law to community college students.
